Excecutive Summary:
Women and persons with disabilities in Palu City continue to face multiple barriers in accessing economic resources, particularly in obtaining financing that aligns with their needs and circumstances. These barriers are not solely related to the availability of adaptive financial products, but are also shaped by social, cultural, and structural factors that historically reinforce gender- and disability-based discrimination.
The economic potential of women and persons with disabilities is in fact significant, particularly through micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that contribute to strengthening the local economy. However, the current financing ecosystem remains insufficiently inclusive and tends to favor dominant groups, leaving the needs of vulnerable groups unmet.
in response to this situation, Sikola Mombine Foundation, in collaboration with Kopernik and with the support of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation through the Empower-In program, has initiated a feasibility study on inclusive and sustainable financing schemes. This study aims to identify opportunities, challenges, and relevant intervention strategies, with the ultimate goal of fostering an economic ecosystem that is moreequitable, inclusive, and sustainable for womenand persons with disabilities in Palu City.
